Family Christmas Ornaments

Shown are just a few of my favorite Christmas ornaments.
On the left we have a very unusual ornament that belonged to my Great Grandmother in Germany and has been passed down through our family ever since. Not really sure what it represents but is definitely unique.
Top center is my favorite ornament from my childhood and I believe my parents purchased it back in the early 50's. It has been displayed on our family's tree every year since.
Below that is an ornament of a deer that we purchased in the early 1980's for our sons when they were children.
And lastly on the right is an ornament I purchased the Christmas after 9-11 as a everlasting tribute to all those who perished in the attack on America. It says Valiant And Brave in the ribbon around the torch.
Right above that only partially shown is another antique ornament from Germany which is well over a hundred years old.
Hope you enjoy!

It's the little things by Bigbird3

It's the little things

My sister rang me a few weeks ago to see if I mind that Paige borrowed the bag that I bought her back from New York as we were going to a wedding. I was amazed to hear she still had it. I visited New York 21 years ago to celebrate my 40th birthday. I bought the bag in Bloomingdales and had it gift wrapped. My sister never used it as it is far too small (her handbags are huuuge) so it is in pristine condition, In my blurry photo the bag it is sitting in is the original box which, if I remember correctly, had a black ribbon tied around it: it also had a card inside (she still has that as well) with "gift from Bloomingdales" written on it. It was lovely hearing that she had treasured it all this time

PS I recently bought Paige a more appropriate handbag for her birthday so that this one remains in tip top condition.
