Clean paint is always nice to see, even if that scheme has an awful lot of "CP" and very little "KCS" in it. Former Soo Line 4412 was one of the very first geeps to get the new paint, and looks like it has even gotten a recent wash given the total lack of road grime compared to when I saw it on my trip in October. It and a KCS mate have charge of a good-sized Rankin Turn, with the conductor at the ready to line the route as they return to High Oak Yard in Pearl.
I know it is. I've tried shooting and developping and scanning film at home before, and I never really had the mental energy for it - and I don't have the money to send everything to a lab either.
I know I won't probably stick to it if I try again. And my "keepers' rate" is extremely low in analog compared to what it is on digital anyway, so it's a stupid move. And it always takes me months to end a roll of film too. And besides, I often can get similar results when I shoot film and digital side by side with the same EF lenses, so what's the point ?
I don't know. I just don't feel the same thing when I look at the images. I don't feel "proud" when they're shot on digital. I don't feel happy. I don't feel satisfied with the results, however technically good they are, or even when I got the moment I wanted because of the autofocus and aperture priority and all that. It's just not satisfying, or fulfilling.
But if I invest again in analog gear (because I've stupidly sold it all a few months ago), it will probably just be the same...
I really can't make up my mind. But what's the point of creating something you're not happy with ?
