Colorful Rainbow Row Charm-DZ1_0703.jpg

Colorful Rainbow Row Charm - Charleston SC has the historic houses along the waterfront that are all painted in all different colors on east bay street. We capture this image early in the morning after the sun came up as it was showing the vibrant colors best. From this view point we could see blue, green, purple, and pink houses in these wonderful pastel colors just oozing with Charleston charm. These historic Georgian home are an iconic site and is a must see when you visit Charleston. In the beginning of rainbow row was a series of businesses where the merchant would work out of the ground floor and live upstairs. They were not painted in pastel at this time and for a period of time after the civil war this area was run down. Then a couple bought several home in 1931 and painted them different pastel colors. Others who own homes followed suit and pretty soon this whole street had different colors of pastel homes. This colorful homes just adds to that Charleston charm that you find in this holy city. Twilight in Downtown Greenville SC-DR504569.jpg

Twilight in Downtown Greenville SC - We came back and capture this right after sunset in Downtown Greenville as it look so wonderful at twilight a perfect time of day. Greenville downtown is such a cool place with it walkway along the Reedy river as creates it own little riverwalk which just adds so much charm. This is considered upstate South Carolina and this shows the end of the reedy river which is dammed but there are bridges you can cross over to take in the shopping or dining along the river. There is plenty to do in the area from all the restaurants and shopping along the river to main street. This area is definately a place to see while your in the area of upstate South Carolina. It is not far from some of the most beautiful scenery of the blue ridge mountains along with many state parks and national forest. The table rock state park is within a thirty minute drive. This area is special as it is considered the birthplace of Greenville SC as a grist mill once stood in this area which brought people here you can see the remains of it in the Falls Park. Falls Park on the Reedy is a 32-acre park adjacent to downtown Greenville, South Carolina in the historic West End district. The park has a unique pedestrian bridge call the Liberty bridge that curves around a waterfall on the Reedy River which is 355 high so you can get a great view of the falls from above. Another great capture of Fine Arts of America at sunset over downtown Greenville SC.

Curvy Roadside Fall Colors SC-DR403418.jpg

Curvy Roadside Fall Colors SC - We love the colors around this curve in this road of autumn colors and around every curve their was something new to see in South Caroline. We were heading back home and decided to take a little detor through the national forest in upstate South Carolina and boy were we glad we did as there was still plenty of colors in this part of the state. It was like eye candy to our eyes the color was amazing. We don't have these kind of autumn colors so it was a real treat for us. All the trees in the forest seem to be showing off today. Through the thick forest we would see these hill side that were popping with color but the forest was so thick and very few places to pull off to try to capture them. In any case it was worth the extra day added to our trip to drive through this area. I am not 100 percent sure what the trees were but I believe it was a mix of red oaks, sugar maples, sassafras, and hickory to name a few.
