Plante bisannuelle de 40 cm à 1 m, dressée, glabre, hispide inférieurement, presque nue, très rameuse à rameaux effilés, raides, étalés ; feuilles inférieures sinuées ou roncinées (ordinairement détruites à la floraison), les supérieures entières ; capitules petits, subsessiles, solitaires ou réunis par 2-3 en fascicules espacés le long des rameaux ; involucre à folioles linéaires un peu farineuses ; akènes muriqués au sommet terminé par une petite couronne de 5 dents allongées écailleuses ; fleurs jaunes.

🔉 Calls frequently, giving a loud pinnk call or, in flight, a chhip call.
In spring and summer, males can be heard to give a whiit call.
🎶🎶🎶 Song consists of a scratchy chipping-type notes finished rapidly with a ptsee-eeo note.

📍 The other six common crows are the Magpie, Jay, Jackdaw, Chough, Carrion/Hooded Crow and Raven.
⛰️ They are much less “urban” than some other corvids. They live and forage on farms and in agricultural areas, but usually avoid cities.
