Memorable display of aqua-colored tubes on a bed of gravel.

Or at least it's memorable now that I've got a picture of it to refer to later.

Help! I want to know if the pipes are aqua-colored so as to adhere to some kind of PIPING COLORATION SCHEME à la the ANSI/ASME A13.1 2007 standard. Or did the manufacturer just have an excess supply of aqua-colored plastic he or she was trying to use up.

"Sky clumps" display of Minneapolis street tree.

This tree is taking a "splotches" or "patches" approach to revealing itself as it greets the Spring.

This being Minneapolis, I guess I'd have expected it to have been pre-engineered to present an evener unfurlment.

A different corner.

Sure, an open-sided dumpster enclosure like every building has, it's nothing special — but look at that massive spew of cables up there!, cascading out from the building and sweeping upward into the sky.

The little concrete cylinder on the ground, I think it's meant to be a table to put your bottle of Mountain Dew on while you're lighting your cigarette?

These are romance novels and sweatfree tanning in Iowa.

In the small towns of the U.S. people have been thinking that their traditional ways of life — which had been dependent on the "videotan" business model (combining UV tanning with VHS movie rental) — are DOOMED because of changes nobody around here asked for. "Paperback books might get us by for a few more years but what then?"

"Dumpchute to Shamrock," just sitting there like it's as normal and ordinary as anything.

The building's stupid 1980s architectural geometry is causing my picture's upper right-hand corner to look like it's not ninety degrees. I'm sorry for that but it's not my fault.

The word "thrivent" is real; it is the adjective form of "thrive." by Tim Kiser

The word "thrivent" is real; it is the adjective form of "thrive."

My favourite of the small buildups of fluffsome snowfall is the one atop the letter v.

The corp "Thrivent Financial" sometimes refers to itself as "Thrivent Financial For Lutherans," depending on circumstance/audience. The corp is the corporate descendant of an entity originally known as "Fervent Religiosity For Lutherans."

I can see across the freeway, over into the next neighborhood. by Tim Kiser

I can see across the freeway, over into the next neighborhood.

But the shiny wooden antinoise wall stops people from needing to listen to the terrible superhighway noises, it's a pretty nice setup! I feel that the wall reminds me of old barns.

The freeway & its antinoise barrier are the frontier between the "Whittier neighborhood" and the "Phillips neighborhood" but nobody cares about that. Least of all, demographers and statisticians.

Somebody did a project on one of the Minneapolis civic trashcans.

I got very wowed by the bright colour. I don't know if the thing happened as part of an official gov't-sanctioned beautification program or what but I think it's something the City ought to encourage for so long as it doesn't include profanity.

See that rustic wooden fence back there! You'd never guess it from looking but there's a noisy and bustling interstate on the other side of it. The fence is an idea to stop the freeway from getting seen.
