~Where's The Bugs?~

Froggy's doing what they do best, and holding really still.... while waiting for that way too good to miss, natural opportunity to come along! Thinking....Are all these people ever going to go away?
This is something us Humans are not very good at, as we go off to the polls to Vote Out, All of those Special Interest controlled Bums! And in doing so, we are liable to clean them out of the very same Offices we earlier voted them in to. Even though the voice of reason speaks volumes against this, it may be that a new and surely quite temporary majority forms, and they get their way.... We had all better Think Twice before letting this happen, and Watch Out Very carefully just who we are Voting in to that important office!!
Please just remember One Very Important Fact, before you Vote! Obama has been in that Oval Office for only a year and a half. And yet He is catching quite a lot of the Flack for doing what he thinks is best for this Nation. I don't like the Health plan he let the Ins. Cos. push through either!!!
But, there have been MORE JOBS created in the just the Last fiscal year, than during the last 8 years that it took the former President to spend us into the Unreal Fiscal Deficit that exists now.
Think carefully before you flick out your tongue, and Vote in somebody else who will inevitably end up...... biting the Hand that feeds them.

DOING THE DONEGHADEE DANCE

I really like seagulls, especially when one has fish and chips and you can cause air traffic havoc by tossing them chips!

Took this way back in March when we went to a little place on the coast called Doneghadee and I fell in love with the little town as its soooo pretty.

Like I have fallen in love with all of Ireland!!!

WINTER TIME COLOUR

One of the nice things about Winter in Melboure, is the variety of Camelia's that come into bloom.

And this lush, pink variety is one of my faves as its SO lush and pink!

I had to see my lawyer today to sort out a few matters left over from my divorce and regale him with tales of Ireland (he is also Irish and born in Belfast).

But most importantly, I picked up my "Amanda is free to marry, divorce Certificate".

I did a little dance!!!

SHADES OF AMETHYST

Its not quite purple and its got a hint of pink so I think amethyst is quite appropriate to describe this little flower.

Another one from Cabra Castle.

Have no idea what its called, know that it grows on a vine but I just loved it as the petals were really fluffy.

Thanks to the polarising filter SOOC except for cropping.

MEMORIES OF A WARM SUMMER'S DAY

in Downhill Forest, which is about five minutes from where Shane and I live.

I LOVE how the sunlight dappled water looks, but don't ask me how it turned out like this as I haven't a clue!

And this is pre-polariser filter.

Melbourne is really turning on the Winter weather at the moment, bitterly cold, howling wind and rain that is coming down in sheets.

Thank Goodness the heating is working now, otherwise someone would have had to chip me out of the ice block that I would have turned into!

ON A MELBOURNE WINTER DAY

when the sun was shining, the breeze was blowing and I kicked myself up the butt and forced myself to get out of the house.

SOOC and didn't even bother cropping it as I really liked it.

Satisfied my need for having a pink moment! Actually what is really strange is looking at the bush, it looks as if it is covered in little white flowers. But, because of the breeze, all the teeny weeny pink insides seemed to meld together.

Made me feel all girly looking at this!

TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES by craftedfromtheheart

TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES

and I do.

Whenever I go for a walk I always have a quick sniff of the roses in people's gardens.

Bit disappointing if they aren't the old fashioned roses and they don't smell!!

The walled garden at Cabra Castle was full of roses and I think I spent as much time sniffing them as I did photographing them.

I am really struggling with my narcolepsy at the moment. I am miserable without Shane so I am letting it shut me down instead of having my usual battles with it.

Pity I can't sleep for the next two months!!

I'VE WAITED UNTIL ITS COOLED DOWN

a tad before I posted.

I am SO over this heat wave and the worst is yet to come. Having a tin roof (and no aircon) means I can usually add 15oc to the inside temperature.

Amanda looking like a limp rag is one photo I won't be posting to Flickr!!!!

So all you Northern Hemisphere Flickr'ers I truly WOULD love your snow.

Anyway, thought I would give you a spot of sunshine and one of my fave Summer Flower the Agapantha. I swear this flower is almost indestructible in our heat!!!

LETS START THE YEAR OFF AS I MEAN TO CONTINUE

and let us all have a REALLY pink day.

I received these utterly divine Roses and Lilies from a gorgeous friend of mine on Christmas Eve because they know I just love pink.

AND, I think I have FINALLY mastered the macro on my point and shoot as I was pretty pleased with the results.

I finally whipper snippered my front and back fields into submission which is why I disappeared. Only took 19 hours to do! No more sunburn thank goodness, but I did pull a groin muscle (ooooh arrrrgh) which I could do without!

So I am back and I must confess I nearly posted a Christmas shot as I still have loads not seen!!!!

Of course I am going to say, BETTER LARGE!!!

CHAPTER 3 OF MY CHRISTMAS STORY by craftedfromtheheart

CHAPTER 3 OF MY CHRISTMAS STORY

The Doyens of Santa Land's Retirement Village looked at each other and said "ohhhhh Lordy Lord, Mrs, "Love of my Life" Claus is out and Santa is asleep. That workshop is positively pulsating and what IS that music"!!!!!

Looking out of their window, the Doyens could see the walls throbbing, disco balls twirling, elves sliding down the roof and landing into snow piles, the whole pack of reindeers flying round and round and one particularly tubby little Santa-in-training, beer mug in hand, swaying at a 45 degree angle and belting out "Jail House Rock".

Pink Doyen looked at Gold Doyen and said, "what do you reckon his punishment will be when she comes back home"?

Gold Doyen tittered and said "well last time he transgressed it wasn't any sex for a week (well it IS an adult story and not for the kiddies!). I reckon its going to be at least a month long ban this time! AND, she'll have him working around the Clock now, no cricket on the TV and no beer".

Giggling hysterically at the thought of all the punishments that were going to be metered out to the hapless Santa, they shuffled off to their room to catch a few zzzzzzz's before the evening's entertainment REALLY started when Mrs. Claus arrived home.

ALL I NEED IS SNOW by craftedfromtheheart

ALL I NEED IS SNOW

and I ain't going to get that in Australia in the Summer!!

I ADORE the Heartwood Creek range and years ago a friend of mine in Queensland had a shop and she decided to get rid of her old stock.

I picked up all my Snowmen, Angels and Santa's at such a ridiculous price and it was probably getting all of these that sent me into overdrive with my Christmas Collection.

Well I have to blame something!!!!

The "Christmas Tree" on the table I actually dug up from my old garden. I couldn't believe it when I pulled it out as it was an intact topiary frame, well worth the effort of pulling it out and going purple in the face!

I unpicked an old wreath and wound it around. Made some large stars and hearts out of old linen napkins that I picked up in the Charity shop for 50 cents and painted some stryofoam balls.

Its one of my fave little trees because it cost me next to nothing.

The teapot was another great find in a charity shop. One of those red enamel jobs that I picked up for $1 and it looks gorgeous with the Santa and Snowmen I painted.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that despite what the ex thinks, my collection actually cost very little except my time for all the things I painted and sewed. ANYONE can do it, all it takes is a bit of an imagination.

DO YOU THINK SANTA WILL GIVE ME A NEW BRAIN FOR CHRISTMAS? by craftedfromtheheart

DO YOU THINK SANTA WILL GIVE ME A NEW BRAIN FOR CHRISTMAS?

I'm still recovering after a 31 hour attack so I lost all of Friday and effectively today as I have laid on the couch willing the wretched vertigo to go away.

Wouldn't wish Narcolespy on my Ex, mind as he never believed I was a narcoleptic, HIS brain really wouldn't know what had hit him!

So, back to my Chrissie decorations.

This is besides my computer and I have a third tree above my computer but as I had run out of fairy lights I ain't photographing it!

These two trees are from the 1940's and are extremely fragile so I don't actually take the lights and decorations off them anymore.

The ice skates on the left I paid $5 for (Ebay where else) and I got them as they are from 1934 when my Dad was born. Because they stood still for long enough I painted them with snowmen.

The white skates I got from a friend in Queensland who used to buy a lot of my artwork. Her daughter is a very good ice dancer and she sent me a pair of her daughter's boots she had outgrown which I thought was sooooo sweet of her.

I love it when night falls as it really makes for a cosy corner.

BACK TO THE GLITTER AND FAIRY LIGHTS

Actually since I took this shot I found my other fairy lights so it now positvely glows.

I am so going to hate packing this lot away as I have really enjoyed sharing them with everyone.

After the last several Christmas's of being under so much stress and strain, even though I am going to be celebrating Christmas alone, I am so enjoying this Christmas Season as I finally feel at peace with myself.

And I hope everyone finds that.

ITS BEGINNING TO FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS by craftedfromtheheart

ITS BEGINNING TO FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS

After cancelling Christmas last year, I realised I can't do that ever again as I so love putting out my Chrissie Decorations.

So that is why I have disappeared aside from the fact I have a streaming cold (just to REALLY get into the Christmas spirit) as it takes me ages to get everything out of my storage downstairs, clean them all, put them up then move them all around again!

So, I will be putting up quite a few photos because I have managed to squeeze a LOT of Christmas decorations into my little home.

KISSES FROM ME

For all the lovely, lovely Birthday Wishes I received yesterday.

I had a gorgeous day and even though I was by myself I didn't feel alone as I had my Flickr family around me.

Isn't this the most gorgeous coloured Sari!!!

When I bought it off Ebay (for the princely sum of $5) I was buying it as material as that is what it was listed as. It was only when I received it that I realised it was a sari.

Its missing the little top and I have NO IDEA how to actually tie it but for the purpose of photography I could get away with it.

I think Sari's are divine as they are so over the top with their colours and their blingy bits, bit like me actually LOL.

"WOT YOU DOING AMANDA?"

Well, when I was taking this photo, I was lying flat on my back in a stranger's garden, AS YOU DO!!!

I was idly wandering through my photo folders and realised I have a ton of photos that I haven't posted.

SIgh, this was a Winter Shot and faded memories of it being nice and cold.

EVENING SUNSHINE

Do you know how TWITCHY I get when I have SOOC photos!!!!

Only did the bare minimum of cropping as well why it ended up as a huge file! Didn't even think it would turn out either because I was shooting directly into the sun.

I was actually listening to the blackbird singing in the tree before I realised how pretty it looked with the sun glinting off the new growth.

What would we do without nature!!!
