Een prachtige dag op de golfbaan: strakblauwe lucht, spiegelglad water, en één verleidelijke vijver die wacht op je bal. De bomen fluisteren “mikken is moeilijk”, maar de golfer is vastberaden… of tenminste hoopvol. Geloof ons: dit is niet alleen een sport, het is ook een strijd tegen de elementen én de wetten van de zwaartekracht.

East of the golf course is small Palo Alto Airport. Planes come & go all day long it seems. Here you can see a small one that appears to be heading for a sand trap in the middle distance.
We met up in the Baylands Athletic Center parking lot. It is adjacent to, but not used by, the Palo Alto Municipal Golf Course. Starting off we saw the links were already full of duffers and a few Canada Geese (branta canadensis)
