To celebrate National Chicken Wings day, July 29th, I went to Chicken N' Dough Express in Ajax. They were offering a pound of wings for only CDN$10.00 (reg. 15.00). I added Fries and a drink to complete my meal.

It was my first time here and I wasn't anticipating much BUT the food exceeded my expectations! I had the Island Mix flavoured wings and they were crispy and tasty. They were also quite meaty. The fries were done to perfection, with a great crispy texture.

With good food and good service, I'll definitely come back.

Every once in a while when I go shopping at Pacific Fresh Foods in Pickering, I come across good deals, and some interesting items. This time it was a package of off-cuts from the roasted pig sold in their food court. These photos only show half of what I got for only CDN$10.00. It was quite meaty and tasty. Great value!

I also picked up some fried rice, bean curd rolls, and vegetables - all good value. This will last me for several good meals!

With so many choices of good food available, I don't often eat a lot of pizza but that may change. I had heard about Pizzeria Isabella so I decided to give them a try. Wow!

I was impressed with their Roman style pizza. Unlike typical pizzas, these were rectangular, not round. I had their Truffle Mushroom pizza and their Dolce Inferno (Salamina Pepperoni) and they were absolutely delicious.

The crust was light and crispy, just the way I like it. The toppings were fresh, delicious, plentiful, and covered the pizza, edge to edge. Both pizzas were outstanding. I'll have to try their other combinations.

Their menu also offers salads, pasta, and desserts. I'll definitely be back!

I had an urge to cook so I went wandering through my local market seeking some inspiration. I saw several things that inspired me but I finally settled on Chicken with Shiitake Mushrooms and Bean Curd Sticks. I also picked up some fresh Baby Bok Choy to go along with Chinese Sausages and Kimchi that I had at home. Everything turned out great!

It was such a pleasure celebrating the birthdays of several friends born in July. We had chosen Sukhothai in Markham for our celebration and it turned out to be a great choice.

Our meal started with Purple Rain cocktails and some appetizers - Lettuce Cups, Mango Salad, and Grabong (Squash Fritters). They were all great choices!

Our mains were Khao Soi with Beef, Pad Gra Prow, Gaeng Kiaw Wan (Green Curry with Chicken), Sukhothai Pad Thai with Chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, with great flavours.

Our wonderful meal concluded with Mango Sticky Rice and a cheesecake that we brought. We enjoyed all the food and great service.

I've been dining at Linh Anh since they first opened in Scarborough a few years ago and I love their food! Besides great flavours, they also have beautiful presentation and good service.

On this warm summer day, I chose their Crab Spring Roll with Grilled Pork on Vermicelli, instead of pho. It was a very generous serving of delicious food with fresh ingredients and great flavours.

I've been to Pho Anh Vu in Scarborough, so when they opened in Whitby, I had to check them out. I was joined by a longtime friend who lives not too far away.

She ordered a vermicelli dish with grilled chicken and spring roll, while I had their special bone marrow pho. We were quite surprised at the extra large portions that we received, and quite happy with the flavours.

The vermicelli dish was very tasty and my friend had to take home leftovers - enough for another meal.

The pho dish arrived in two bowls, with some massive bones in both dishes. It tasted great but was a bit awkward to eat. I ended up with a mess on my shirt. I should have had a bib!

The food was good and the decor was tastefully attractive, with lots of hanging lanterns and flora. The service was very good. We'll be back!

Calypso Queen 2 is new to the neighbourhood in Pickering, serving Guyanese style Chinese cuisine. They have some great weekday lunch specials for only CDN$9.95, including a spring roll. Of course, I had to check them out.

With lots of choices, I settled on their Chilli Chicken with steamed rice. It was a good-sized serving of delicious food and it came with TWO spring rolls. I'll definitely have to come back to try more of their offerings.

Welcome to the neighbourhood, Pizzaiolo! I've been seeing this pizza chain popping up all over the place so when they opened in Ajax, I had to give them a try.

I had a slice of their Sicilian pizza and it was pretty good - nice crust with delicious toppings. I don't eat a lot of pizza but I'll be back to try more of their offerings!
