Go Parks is a project giving the residents of Coventry new and exciting ways to use parks and green spaces in the city. Go Parks will bring everything from sport and physical activity to wellbeing and culture elements into your local park.
With an increasing number of people now using parks and greenspaces for activity as a result of COVID-19, we’re promoting ways to be active in parks that are fun, simple and safe.
The Go Parks: Active Schools Challenge is returning with a culture special!
To celebrate Coventry’s UK City of Culture 2021 status, the Challenge will this time have a cultural twist. Not only will schools be getting active by using parks in the city, but also by taking part in, and visiting, cultural activities and venues.

Through an innovative partnership with Subaru of America, Inc., the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), and National Park Foundation (NPF), three of America’s most iconic national parks are at the forefront to reduce the amount of waste that parks send to landfills. As part of the multi-year Don’t Feed the Landfills Initiative led by NPCA, Subaru of America Inc., NPF, and park concessionaires and community partners, Denali, Grand Teton and Yosemite national parks have made incredible progress to shrink the environmental footprint in and around these parks.

The timing of this photo is everything: the sun is low enough in the sky that it's behind the fog rolling in from the coast, which acts like a giant diffuser, shining pale, golden light over an old lava flow along the Southeastern edge of Hawaiʻi Island. It was truly surreal to experience complete silence on this volcanic rock, on an otherwise tropical island full of birds, insects, and other life.
It's a gloomy day today so nothing better to do than sit in front of the fire with coffee, Lightroom and the kitty cat!
This is a photo from the same spot as a previous Half Dome photo ... but from the following morning.
