Throwback to roughly a year ago, where I had the privilege to observe this lone lioness early in the morning (about 30 minutes before sunrise).
In this frame, she had spotted a zebra off in the distance. Nothing came of it though (too far + very open terrain).

Built August 2016 by Trinity Rail, this 5201 cubic ft grain hopper served as part of KCS's newest fleet of grain hoppers built between August 2015 and June 2017. Unlink the ACF and Gunderson hoppers from the previous decade, the newer hoppers no longer wear the KCS Retrobelle paint scheme.
Rolling above the former MKT mainline into Houston, the railcar is seen here on an empty CPKC grain train utilizing KCS trackage rights on the former SP through Houston as it makes its way back to the Midwest from Mexico.

Heavy storm clouds loom in the sky, hinting at an impending downpour in a moody twilight atmosphere.
So, what's on your mind?
I encountered this beautiful bird in the Pantanal during a boat trip from Passo do Lontra on the Rio Vermelho.
"Blue Heron Trio on Texture" by Patti Deters. This simple drawing of three adult Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) shows them in various poses as would be seen in nature. Great Blue herons, or GBH for short, are the largest of the herons in North America. Their blue gray coloring of the feathers helps these water birds blend into their coastal and wetland surroundings, though the bright orange beak and yellow eye do stand out. This image is inspired from combining several of my own photographs drawings with an abstract texture canvas in the background to give the sense of a beach or coastal scene. The rush of adrenaline when you can see funny stuff to take documental photos of is just awesome.
Something that isn’t awesome is when you see the stuff and you don’t have a camera in your hand. But these photos locations aren’t so far from home so I managed to get home, get the camera and went out for a quick walk again, but multiple days later… yesterday.
And the believe I had for it was still there was probably a little too much. But lucky girl I was, it was still abandoned and left just how I it, days earlier. Then it was time for the documentation and snap the photos.
