Evening’s such as this are as beautiful as they are cold. The diffuse light, desaturated colour palette and the sound of water gently meeting frozen shoreline makes for a memorable scene.
The intense cold also drills those sub zero memories into your skull as fingers freeze, lungs burn and toes turn into tiny frozen piggies that will absolutely hurt just as much when it comes time to thaw them!
It was an incredible sunset and as much as the cold drives me crazy, it also makes for stunning scenes that I am extremely grateful for.

A favorite of mine. When it comes to birds and winter a few stand out. Blue Jays, Cardinals and this formidable creature, the Bald Eagle. Watching them soar above the water and snow covered landscape is a sight to behold.

Dealing with the elements when trying to capture images is just part of my job. When you have done all you can to prepare yourself and your still uncomfortable you have to dig deeper and focus that much more. For me, it just makes the final image a little sweeter. As always, My client gets their image and a great backstory.

A beautiful sheltered cove on Lake Huron. The only sounds are the gulls, the wind and the waves breaking against the ice shelf.
Almost missed this master of disguise with the cleverly placed snow camo. I give Mr.Fox credit for the effort.
