United States Navy (USN) - Sikorsky UH-3H Sea King - BuNo 149006 (c/n 61-080)
This Sea King wears fictitious markings representing BuNo 152711, "Helicopter 66," the US Navy's primary recovery helicopter which hoisted returning astronauts during the Apollo 8, Apollo 10, and Apollo 11 missions. Helicopter 66 would be lost in a fatal crash off the coast of San Diego on June 4, 1975, Oddly enough, the Bureau Number ("BuNo") painted on this Sea King's tailboom is "162711," a number which belongs to a Grumman F-14A Tomcat, the last of the A-models built by Grumman.
