As we emerged from our bunker into the daylight after five long years of subterranean existence… our eyes were greeted by a scene of desolation.
The world we once knew was now but a poisoned wasteland, tainted by the fallout and devoid of life.
Hesitantly we stepped forth, uncertain of what grim horrors awaited us in this broken and unfamiliar landscape. The air tasted stale. It tingled ominously in our throats. Denuded trees reached down with their withered limbs and unknown menace lurked in every nook and shadow.
Which is why I made Harvey go out first!

This is actually a disused walkway near Ingrams Green that once ran beneath the Midhurst to Petersfield railway. The line was abandoned in 1955 and is now overgrown by trees and grazed by bored looking sheep.
