On this day this past fall the weather was supposed to be nice and cloudy with a chance of rain for late afternoon. So I went to Gorges State Park in NC to hike to Rainbow and Turtleback Falls. This beauty is Turtleback.
We had a very dry fall but yet the flow here still made for a nice waterfall. The conditions were so good that I overstayed my welcome. It wasn't too long after this shot was taken that I started to feel the first few drops of rain. Then the downpour commenced. I got into the rain poncho I brought and covered my backpack and started the hike out. The rain just kept coming down hard the entire way out. And yes, just about the time I reached my car, the rain stopped.
But it didn't bother me, well maybe a bit, because I knew I got some shots I'd be happy with. Sure wish autumn would last longer. But I still have lots of fall photos I haven't processed yet. It's just a matter of finding the time to do so.
Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season.
