Daughter #1 is a full-time student in Birmingham, and also works in a restaurant.
She'd been hit in the eye by a Prosecco cork while at work. She was assisting an new team member who was nervous, even though she'd done it before.
Anyway, a new team member forget all the rules - like holding onto the cork, and aiming it away from anyone. Daughter was initially left with blurred vision in the eye.
We headed off to Birmingham and took her to the City Hospital in Birmingham. Luckily they have a separate eye A&E department. Even more luckily timing was on our side (as this department isn't open 24 hours), and she got to see a specialist eye surgeon.
She has a bruised eye, and various eye drops with a follow up appointment. The blurred vision is slowly disappearing. Phew!
