I am not a huge fan of jet powered aircraft, I prefer the olden days propeller planes with radial engines. But this machine is a bit different. The engine does not produce the usual sharp noise as most other jets, but a deeper rumble that carves into your chest. An experience that can't be reproduced by audio recordings. The airplane type is called 'Viggen' translating to 'The Thunderbolt', which is a very fitting name.

One of the most characteristic airplane profiles, SAAB J29-F 'Tunnan' (Swedish for 'the barrel'), SE-DXB. Despite the somewhat clumsy look on the ground, the pilots say it flies like a swallow once you are up in the air.
