Was any consideration given to making one of these a hundred feet tall for the national memorial in DC.

The famous Smithsonian American Art Museum describes the statue thusly:

Le Bassin de Neptune fut construit entre 1679 et 1681 sous la direction de Le Nôtre et nommé alors pièce d'eau sous le Dragon. Sous le règne de Louis XV le bassin fut modifié. En 1736, Ange-Jacques Gabriel en changea un peu le tracé et en 1740, 3 groupes de sculptures en plomb furent installées : Neptune et Amphitrite (son épouse divine) de Lambert Sigisbert Adam, Le Dieu Océan de Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, et Protée par Edmé Bouchardon. Le nouveau bassin proposait alors d'importants et variés jeux d'eau suscitant l'admiration de la Cour.

As Mike and I explored the Celebrity Reflection, we were impressed by the intriguing reflection-themed artwork throughout the ship. During our wanderings, I stopped to take photos of some of the displays near the lounges and specialty restaurants on Deck 5 aft. This work by Anthony James -- titled ''Birch'' -- features a set of birch trunks in a mirrored case that creates an ''infinity'' effect.
