Ah the North Fork Salt River in northeastern Missouri: It ought to be more widely-known and it ought to have a better name.

"I'd think it'd draw tourists if more people knowed about it," I said in a mocking imitation of a country dialect.

Go stand on that sandy bank in the left foreground, I'll take your picture. No I'm just kidding that's a bad idea.

In Jackson Township in Shelby County, Missouri, on April 2nd, 2022, the North Fork Salt River at the "Hunnewell Access," a fishing area owned by the Missouri Department of Conservation, on the south side of U.S. Route 36 and Missouri Route 110, the Chicago-Kansas City Expressway.

The North Fork Salt River joins the Middle Fork Salt River to form the Salt River, which flows to the Mississippi River.

In rural northeastern Missouri in early April, the North Fork Salt River flows brownly past.

The North Fork Salt River supports various EXPRESSIONS OF BROWNWATER LIFESTYLES by the local people, and by tourists and photographers like me.

2 funfacts: According to the National Bridge Inventory, the foreground expressway bridge (eastbound) is from 2007, and the bridge behind it (westbound) is from 1978.
