KEEFERS - a post office and station on C. P. R. main line and on Fraser River, 10 miles east of North Bend, in Yale Provincial Electoral District. The population in 1918 was 25. Limited farming.
Keefers, B.C. is named after George Alexander Keefer, C.P.R. construction engineer who had charge of building the CPR between North Bend and Lytton. He and his family at one time resided there.
The Keefers Post Office was opened - 1 August 1895 and closed - 19 June 1965 owing to its limited usefulness.

James "Jim" Lamont / Lamond Gillen was the Postmaster at Keefers and served from - 1 June 1962 to - 19 June 1965 when the Post Office closed.
