From the box base:
To carry the idea of trompe l'oeil to its logical conclusion, John Haberle (American, 1856-1933) kept to the rule of rendering objects at a 1:1 scale: his paintings were as big as the things they depicted. Manageable when one is addressing a tub of peanuts or a student's slate, this precept sets the painter of domestic scenes a real challenge. In painting a fireplace, Haberle rose to the challenge, loading the composition with a great variety of objects, all rendered with the precision of a photographer. This most precise of painters, who was chided by the United States Secret Service for producing unnervingly exact renderings of currency, worked as an engraver before he turned his sigts on painting.
Just 500 pieces, although the overall puzzle size is that of a Pomegranate 1K puzzle due to the larger-than-usual pieces.
Went together very quickly due to these factors, and was complete.
