Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Sawmill Geyser is the namesake of the Sawmill Group in Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. It is a frequently erupting, moderate-sized, fountain-type geyser, typically with long durations. Eruptions consist of brief, overlapping, medium-sized, splashing bursts of water. Unusually, from late January 2017 to late June 2021, Sawmill Geyser was dormant.
