The clouds are hanging over Mount Olympus in Cyprus, seen from the entrance to the long disused works of the Cyprus Mines Corporation at Karavostasi. Two abandoned 762mm gauge copper-ore side-tipping wagons stand on the former tipping dock on 20th May 2006.

The rusting funnel of abandoned former TID London tug boat 'TID154' built in 1945, latterly in the ownership of Cyprus Mines Corporation, the boat beached alongside the remains of the pier and custom house at Karavostassi in North Cyprus on the Morphou Bay on 20th May 2006.

The abandoned rail-connected pier at Karavostasi, North Cyprus, on 20th May 2006. The point work leading to twin 762mm gauge tracks on the pier were still in-situ, but the ravages of the sea had partly destroyed the pier, which had last been used for copper-ore shipments from the Cyprus Mines Corporation mines at Xeros/Gemikonağı in July 1974.

The former custom house and multi-lingual (Greek-Turkish-English) sign by the abandoned Cyprus Mines Corporation twin rail-connected pier at Karavostassi in the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, on 20th May 2006.The pier had been abandoned since July 1974, and the ravages of the sea had turned it into something reesembling a funfair 'big dipper' ride.

Glimpsed through the mimosa trees and still standing on a short section of remaining 762mm gauge trackwork on 19th March 2005, Plymouth type 'MDT' 4-wheel diesel-mechanical 'CMC 9' (W/No.6297 built in 1962) had stood dumped in this same position for over 30 years at the former copper-ore works of the Cyprus Mines Corporation at Karavostasi in North Cyprus.

The abandoned and partially cleared polluted industrial site of the former Cyprus Mines Corporation works at Karavostasi in North Cyprus on 19th March 2005, with Vulcan Ironworks 0-4-0 petrol-mechanical 'CMC 4' (W/No.4205 built in 1937) presumably awaiting the cutter's torch, being so heavily cannibalised, presumably having taken place before the closure of the works in 1974.
