American starlet Karen Randle (1923-2011) appeared in 22 films between 1944 and 1952, mostly in bit parts. In 1944, she helped her cousin, Eugene Worley, of Texas, in his successful congressional campaign. Worley tipped off producer Walter Wanger to her photogenic qualities. The following year, she was among seven starlets selected as the “best bets” for screen stardom that year. Little came from it. Years later, she had supporting parts in interesting films like Blonde Dynamite (William Beaudine, 1950) and The Lusty Men (Nicholas Ray, 1952), and then her career halted.
