On the shores of Lake Michigan the snow and sand make wonderful patterns on the beach. This is on the beach near The Grand Haven Lighthouse on the west coast of Michigan.

The darker sand is wet/frozen, the lighter sand was whipping across the beach sandblasting everything in its path. Cold, windy, beautiful.

Lake Michigan's high water levels have caused erosion along its shorelines. In this instance, at Grand Mere State Park, erosion has created "cliffs" of sand, and sand trickling and blowing down these cliffs have in turn created some fascinating shapes.
