26/03/25 Llanishen: Transport for Wales Class 231 231010 calls with 2Y54 13:43 Bargoed - Barry Island.
The Class 231's entered service in January 2023, initially replacing Class 769's. Long term, the Rhymney Line is to be worked by Class 756's with the 231's moving away from the Core Valley Lines to work services from Cardiff Central to Maesteg, Ebbw Vale Town & Cheltenham Spa. There are long term plans to have pantographs fitted to the 11-strong class.

The Table 130 Valley Lines 17:05 Cardiff Central to Rhymney in the care of The Fifty Fund's 50031 'Hood' was recorded at Llanishen station in July 1998.
