On a glorious spring morning 66101 climbs Dainton bank near Stoneycombe Quarry with the 6V74 0948 Exeter Riverside to St Blazey clay empties which were tripped down from Cliffe in Stoke the day before.
Being the only booked west bound freight during the week it is always a target for photographers. Days like today have been few and far between this year which makes this picture even more fortuitous.

At the Dresden steam engine festival in April 2018, the express train steam locomotive 03 001 will be presented on the turntable in the Dresden-Altstadt depot. The locomotive from the DB Museum Nuremberg has been presented in the Dresden-Altstadt Railway Museum for many years.
Southern Pacific EMD SD45T-2R No. 6826 leads a westbound freight at Wilmot, Arizona, on April 21, 1990. The train is waiting on a new crew—note how the locomotive is “tied down” with a stick in front of the second axle, perhaps in addition to using a handbrake. In the background, a passing intermodal train carries a trailer advertising SP’s famous “Golden Pig Service.”
Metro-North 4913 leads Port Jervis train 57 west on the NJT Maine Line across the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst leaving Hoboken and the lower Manhattan Skyline behind. Metro-North provides equipment for the "West of Hudson" service on the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Lines which is operated by New Jersey Transit. Metro-North owns eight of these F40PH-2CATs as well as seven GP40s.
