A long-eared owl hunts from a fence line looking for voles, taken on a beautiful snowy day. This was shot just after the sun had set.

It's been a while since I've seen short-eared owls, they've got to be my favourite. So beautiful when flying. A distinct moth type flight that is easy to catch and identify. Not to mention their many faces they morph into when sitting on a perch.

A flock of Sandhill Cranes were moving through Ontario migrating south, stopping for a bite to eat and then moving on.

This Egret is still learning what it can and can't consume. It was having trouble with this large catfish. It tried and tried but eventually gave up, I'm sure the gulls will eventually find this catfish and tear it to pieces to consume.

Was a pleasure watching and photographing this gorgeous grebe family, I love how the chicks at first look like zebras, making them easy to photograph and stand out.
One smart little one couldn't get enough of mom as she sat her head to rest on moms head.

A fledgling killdeer gives me a pose at it waits for mom on the top of a boulder. This photo does not show how tiny this little one was.
This killdeer is somewhere between 9-10 days old and it doing well hunting for bugs.
