University of Minnesota Medical School, Twin Cities Campus, Minneapolis, Minnesota - each year nationally there are about 50,000 applicants and only about half that matriculate to medical school. Many of those rejected would have made fine physicians. The road to medical school is grueling with challenging course work and other experiences to demonstrate fitness for medical school and the profession.
