I.D.s 1320 & 18447 photographed by John Ward on 2006-10-05 of State Transit Authority (S.T.A.) Mercedes 0305 MK II 2347 & Mercedes O305 MK IV 2744 in Booth Street at Johnston Street, Annandale, Sydney, N.S.W., Australia.
Mercedes 0305 MK II 2347 has a body built by Pressed Metal Corporation (P.M.C.) in 1980-03-00 and is on a Route 370 Leichhardt Depot via Glebe Point Road.
Mercedes 0305 MK IV 2744 also P.M.C. built in 1984-08-00 and is on a Route 470 Leichhardt Marketplace.
The Mercedes O305 MK II 2347 being a favourite number of mine was on its last route service duty and apparently was withdrawn from service upon ts arrival back at Leichhardt Depot.
I travelled on the bus from the City of Sydney to Coogee Beach in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and then came back all the way to the City and out to Annandale. The driver was very understanding and co-operative and waited for me to get down from the bus and walk across the road for this one last picture before retirement.
After withdrawal bus 2347 found further employment as one of about twenty that were acquired by the Police for various duties around the country. This bus was registered in N.S.W. for awhile as AQ-62-XZ
