Matthew & Ruth

My nephew, Matthew & his bride Ruth. He'd achieved the rank of Captain in the army but having just finished serving he was married in 'civvies'. His best man was a Major (@ right) & the other two uniformed mates were, like himself, Captains. They all became good pals whilst at Sandhurst. Matthew was the (at least) forth generation to have served his country. His sisters' son is now the fifth generation & currently serving @ the Russia-Estonia border.

Major Andy

Best comrade & best mate (since Sandhurst) and best man to my nephew Matthew at his wedding a few years back.

He's a Major in "The Rifles" (the largest infantry regiment in the British Army). He's also a genuinely great guy and now wearing (I believe) even more medals than when I caught him here candidly at our Matthew's wedding

Respect

Heartwarming to see the thousands who turned out for Liverpool's annual 'Armistice Day' service of remembrance held @ St George's Hall. Made all the more poignant this year by the fact that this was also the 100th anniversary of the start of the four year nightmare that was World War One
