Back on terra firma, it was time to check out the other Mughal gardens in Srinagar. We are now headed to the Nishat Mughal Garden. On the way, after taking a few selfies on the shores of Dal Lake and after grabbing a light snack, we pass this mobile ATM of the J&K Co-operative Bank, again built on a Tata 407 mini truck platform, parked on the shores of Dal Lake. Although Tata 407 mini trucks are ubiquitous all over India and seem to be a dime a dozen, mini buses built on the Tata 407 platform are relatively rare in the rest of India. They do exist, but are pretty rare. (Srinagar, Kashmir, India, Apr/ May 2024)

Bank on Wheels at Hatherleigh, Devon, England.
The closure of most bank branches in the UK over the last twenty years has given rise to the return of an old concept - the mobile bank. This one is a NatWest van which does its rounds in small towns in Devon. The local branches at Okehampton and now Bideford have closed recently, mostly because premises are expensive to operate and fewer customers actually visit branches nowadays. I hope that this van continues to operate and provide good service to rural communities long into the future.
The building behind the van is the Hatherleigh Livestock Market which sadly sold its last animal in February this year.

I can't find any details as to when it ceased to be a bank or where it ended its days.
The mobile bank pulls out of the town of Antoakrom to head to another location. Opportunity International only operates one mobile bank. While the bank is not free from challenges, it has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response and many clients wished that there were more mobile banks that would increase accessibility to more members of their community who lived further away.
