SP61 CTX is a Volvo B7RLE, Wright Urban Eclipse 2. As of time of posting, CTX is Xplore Dundee (McGills) fleetnumber 2427. This is a 1:76 scale, diecast model, OM46705 by OOC Corgi and depicts CTX when it held fleetnumber 2043.
The model represents CTX under National Express ownership and in the NatEx Dundee red and white livery. It features special “Dennis & Gnasher” route branding for the 28 and 29 services, linking Douglas in the east with Charleston in the west of the city. The route branding was in conjunction with Beano comic producer, DC Thompson. This celebrates beloved and icon cartoon characters, synonymous with the City of Discovery.
OM46705A shows CTX on the west to east run of service 28, Charleston to Douglas via Lochee, City Centre and Arbroath Road. 1200 of these models were released, with 600 displaying the Douglas via Arbroath Road destination, and the other half displaying Charleston via City Centre. The latter were released as OOC’s OM46705B.

A full Code 3 (full disassemble, paint strip, re-paint and finish with waterslide transfers) of a 1:76 scale, Leyland Leopard, Alexander Y Type, with short bus style windows and bench style seating (the AYS type vs AY, coach window & seats type). The base model is an Exclusive First Editions (EFE) diecast. In addition to being repainted, the interior also received some attention, with seats being painted and a ticket machine, meant to resemble the Wayfarer, placed by the drivers cab.
As with the Myllennium & Renown models I shared earlier, this model can also represent not just former, but currently preserved Strathtay Buses. This Strathtay Y Type is depicted on the reverse run of R526 TWR. Whilst TWR heads for Kirriemuir on the 20 service, this Y type heads for Seagate Bus Station via Forfar & Dundee City Centre.

This is a resin kit model of an East Lancs Myllennium, and is depicted to represent A127 ESG, Strathtay’s no 431.
431 was originally new to Midland Scottish as MPT127, a Leyland Tiger with a Duple Laser body. Later re-registered as VLT93 with Strathtay as no ST9, it would be sent to East Lancs Coachworks in 2000 to be re-bodied.
This model represents the Myllennium single decker produced by East Lancs, which was the body built on DAF and Alexander Dennis chassis. Strathtay however had Leyland Tigers, for which a variant - the Myllennium Hyline - was produced, with Strathtay having 6 of their Tigers given this new body. Strictly speaking, 431 was a Hyline and so the interior is not fully accurate.
Similar to R526TWR, the model of which I shared earlier today, this model represents a real bus now in preservation. 431 has been returned to immaculate condition and back into the Strathtay livery by the Angus Transport Group and an old acquaintance of mine (who kindly arranged for me to be Conductor during a Strathtay running day).

Normal service resumes with the focus returning to the 1:76 scale world of models and diecast. I’ll continue to share the occasional real world pictures, but for now back to usual.
Here we have R526TWR, Strathtay Buses’ no 616, a Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown. New to Keighley & District in 1998, TWR passed to Strathtay and would be renumbered 21127 with Stagecoach Strathtay. It remained in service with Stagecoach until 2012 whereupon it was sold to Docherty’s Midland Coaches. In 2015 the bus was again sold, this time to McCullochs of Stranraer. In 2022 TWR was taken into preservation by the “ScotBus Preservation Group”, with the intention to return it to the Strathtay livery depicted by this model.
Depicted on Service 20, Dundee’s Seagate Bus Station - Kirriemuir via Forfar. This is one of my few models with a driver figure insitu.
