The coastal wark by the marine sanctuary in La Jolla , California is a great place to see all kinds of birds, pelicans, gulls, comorants, sandpipers and many more. The guano covered rocks are a bit smelly but the colony of birds that live here never seem to mind. This closeup was helped with my zoom lens. It was a sunny morning and the turquoise blue of the Pacific made a pleasant and bold background. These masters of the air have a wingspan of about six feet.

Staying in good shape is great for the heart, mind and body. Running, walking or any kind of physical activiity keeps our bodies healthy and can be a spiritual practice in addition to a good habit. This super sunset was in southern California at San Diego's Pacific Beach at low tide. Those final minutes of sunlight are a great time to make silhouettes out of the people coming out to enjoy the fresh air and peace of mind for at least one hour of the day. You don't have to be a athlete or cross country runner to enjoy the rewards. Go at your own pace, stride and speed and enjoy the moment.

The highest waterfall in North America falls 2,420 feet (729 meters). The upper part falls 1,430 feet (436 meters) Then come the five middle cascades and finaly the lower falls of 320 feet which feed the Merced River in the valley floor. Sometimes this water fall will disappear near the end of July and start its return in October. Fantastic in every way and so easy to hike to though if you want to hike up its vertigo inducing trail and hard on the knees coming down. I perfer the valley view but all views are glorious. Here is another glorious view of the valley
