As I wandered through Lisbon, moving from one neighborhood to another, I focused on capturing street portraits—sometimes close-ups, other times full-body shots within their environment. This particular moment was taken in the Pena district, a historic neighborhood known for its narrow streets, traditional tiled buildings, and local charm. Away from the tourist crowds, it offers a glimpse into authentic Lisbon life.
This young girl stood at her door, gazing outside. At first, I took a candid shot from a distance when she hadn’t noticed me. But in the end, I chose this moment—the one where we made eye contact, she noticed me, and agreed to have her picture taken.
