There's a lot of interesting stuff to explore back in here, provided you're not scared. For instance that is an interesting stain on that white door back there, the closed one.

Quick sketch of ideas for a department store window display on these painted wooden panels.

I planned it out that I'd visit this at a time of year and time of day when the sun's rays would be hitting the artwork from the side, thereby emphasizing the roughness of the painted wooden surface. It was a lot of work!

The artist selected the mural's buff-and-black colouration in honour of the colour scheme of New Jersey license plates of the 1960s and 1970s.

Wilmington, North Carolina, architectural thing in the golden light of evening.

This was erected to some particular purpose?

It makes sense, I suppose, that there'd be more urban public facilities designed by self-taught architects in the South of the U.S. than in the North.

Lost age of this surface application idea for large civic juniper planters.

The designer of this is surely dead by now. Over time, this kind of surface application became known as "face-shredder pebbling." The planter's wet underside is a "mould harbour."

Shine a globular paper lantern onto these newspaper pages; these wrinkled sheets of kraftpaper; and these poly(methyl methacrylate) doorhandles.

When I saw these lucite doorhandles my eyes rolled back into my head due to pleasure; I made a series of lipsmacking noises; and I levitated a few inches above the ground for several seconds while wiggling my fingers and toes. Because I love midcentury modern plastic products so much!!

Urban subtropical winter morning.

This seemed unusual and distinctive; I felt like I was in an unusual and distinctive area.

I don't know what in the hell kind of imagery typically enters into people's heads whenever they're told to think about North Carolina, but here might be a candidate for that kind of imagery if you need one. Think of these backsides of buildings, as viewed during a morning sunlight condition.
