See five front doors at this lineup of apts from 1910 near OSU in Columbus, with three porches and two lozenges of brickwork. by Tim Kiser

See five front doors at this lineup of apts from 1910 near OSU in Columbus, with three porches and two lozenges of brickwork.

I worry that the effort to create lozenges of brickwork has been wasted on these OSU students. They don't care about charming architectural touches!

I wish the shutters were operable instead of phony but their charcoal color looks classy against those red bricks. DOESN'T IT!

A windowless neotudor pastiche in Columbus — from 1975!

Stand out here in the street and look at this aptbldg's imitation half-timbering, and sing the U.S. hit songs of 1975:

• "Jive Talkin'"
• "Rhinestone Cowboy"
• "Philadelphia Freedom"
• "I'm Not Lisa, My Name Is Julie"
• "Bad Blood (The Bitch Is In Her Smile)"

Somebody drew crosshairs on the OSU "O" on that ornamental rock in the yard!!
