Discovered we have a pair of Blackbirds nesting in our outbuilding recently, having made use of an old pigeon's nest, and adapted it to their needs.
Don't see much of the male, until recently, now that they are feverously feeding up the young, but the female has accepted us well.
We gave her water and seed whilst she was sitting on the eggs, and just water after they hatched, mindful that seeds could be harmful to the young chicks.
The chicks are just over a week old now, and must be due to fledge soon, already seen one standing on the edge of the nest. Wondering how they will fair outside, whilst still dependent on the parents, as there are lots of Jackdaws nearby, and little cover out front for the youngsters.
Norway is a place of endless natural beauty. Incredible fjords, winding small roads, raw tunnels carved through the bedrock and so much more. These images are from summer road trips during 2024.

Cap Méchant is one of the eeriest landscapes in the Sud Sauvage, with huge lava fields and windswept black cliffs.
Sud Sauvage (Wild South of Reunion), where the unhurried life is complemented by the splendid scenery of fecund volcanic slopes, occasional beaches, waves crashing on the rocky shoreline and country roads that twist like snakes into the Hauts. In both landscape and character, the south coast is where the real wilderness of Réunion begins to unfold. The change of scenery climaxes with the Grand Brûlé, where black lava fields slice through the forest and even reach the ocean at several points.
