On a vacant lot I skipped and twirled through a meadow of "Chinese bush clover" (I think), until I tripped and fell and hurt my ankle. Also too some goldenrod. by Tim Kiser

On a vacant lot I skipped and twirled through a meadow of "Chinese bush clover" (I think), until I tripped and fell and hurt my ankle. Also too some goldenrod.

Haha a "meadow" of invasive Lespedeza cuneata (I think).

I want you to look at the mowed area at the lower right, then imagine what the vacant lot would look like if all of it were mowed. Next, I want you to tell me whether mowing the vacant lot would improve or worsen its appearance.

A comfortably naturalized specimen of the Eurasian invader "curly dock" in an urban area of Utah.

I doubt the Eurasians ever called it "curly dock" however.
