De brug bij Pont-à-Mousson
Uit het verzwakte hertogdom Opper-Lotharingen ontstond in de 10e eeuw als een van de brokstukken, de heerlijkheid Mousson aan de Moezel met hun burcht.
De heerlijkheid Mousson was gelegen in het latere graafschap Bar.
Beneden aan de heuvel van Mousson bouwden de heren in de 10e eeuw een brug over de Moezel, een van de zeldzame bruggen waardoor de reis van Metz naar Nancy werd ingekort. Rond deze brug ontwikkelde zich een nieuwe stad, Pont-à-Mousson.

The bridge at Pont-à-Mousson
From the weakened duchy of Upper Lorraine, the lordship of Mousson on the Moselle with its castle emerged in the 10th century as one of the fragments.
The lordship of Mousson was located in the later county of Bar.
Below the hill of Mousson, the lords built a bridge over the Moselle in the 10th century, one of the rare bridges that shortened the journey from Metz to Nancy. A new town, Pont-à-Mousson, developed around this bridge.
