The Melon Patch

Field prepped for planting melons, with mounded rows covered in plastic mulch. Located on Redbud Trail south of U.S. Route 12. What happens to all of this plastic at the end of the growing season? Is it recycled? Does it end up in the landfill? That's a lot of plastic!
