The Colón Free Trade Zone is a deepwater seaport in Panama dedicated to re-exporting a wide variety of merchandise to Latin America and the Caribbean. It is located in the province of Colón on the Caribbean coast near the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal. A free-trade zone is a geographic area where goods may be imported, stored, handled, manufactured, or reconfigured and re-exported under specific customs regulation and generally not subject to customs duty.
