Didn’t notice the spider hanging out (upper left quadrant) until I was reviewing my photos after uploading them. From what I can see of him/her, it appears to be a Crab Spider (Thomisidae) of one species or another. These guys are specialized ambush predators that rely on camouflage and speed rather than a web to catch their prey. Having totally overlooked it in the moment while shooting the flower bud, I feel like this is a great example of how well their camouflage works.
