Meijer Studio portrait of my third great-grandmother, Nancy Jane Hull McCarty (1832-1908), taken about 1905 in Sheldon, Illinois. Nancy, who was in her seventies at the time of this photo, sits in a wicker chair which is present in other family photos. She wears a dark gown, which is probably a mourning gown. She wears a portrait of her recently deceased husband, James S. McCarty (1825-1902), in a jewelry setting.
