Wet Woodpecker after the storm

We had a bad storm tonight. When it was over Mark was looking around the backyard and saw this poor woodpecker hanging by the bottom of a tree. It was so wet it couldn't fly. We brought it in for the night.

Mr. Toad's Evening Visit

Our yard is full of these little guys. There are a couple regulars that we see quite frequently by our patio. This is one of them. Usuallly they just stay a few min and then are on their way. This little guy stayed by me for 2 hours last night! He let me touch him a few times. Whenever I would take a pic, he would then turn towards me. When I went back to sit down, he would follow me and sit near me. It was an interesting experience.

Texas Sunset

I am surrounded by trees and houses so this is pretty much all the sunset I ever see. The clouds are turning pink as the sun starts to set.

Mushroom in Tree

When I first saw this, it was so small I thought it was a peanut the squirrels left in the tree. It turned out to be a little mushroom. This is about 3 weeks after I first noticed it.
