This dark red day lily has a name, but I don't know it. It was harvested from a day lily farm by the widow of the man who cultivated them. But it's beautiful, dark petals and deep golden center pops. It is a "spider lily" variety, known for their long narrow petals.

Downtown Port Washington early one rainy morning. My grandfather's home town feels like my home when I visit. One charming highlight of downtown "Port" has always been the church on the hill, seemingly at the edge of town. This was taken at the start of the Covid-19 quarantine period. I'm not sure it is possible to find this street empty now that the restrictions have eased.
Le centre-ville de Port Washington tôt un matin pluvieux. La ville natale de mon grand-père ressemble à ma maison lorsque je visite. Un point culminant charmant du centre-ville "Port" a toujours été l'église sur la colline apparemment à la périphérie de la ville.
El centro de Port Washington temprano una mañana lluviosa. La ciudad natal de mi abuelo se siente como mi hogar cuando la visito. Un punto culminante encantador del centro "Port" siempre ha sido la iglesia en la colina aparentemente en el borde de la ciudad.
