Vessel was managed by the Icelandic 'Sjolaskip' of Hafnarfjordur, at this time.

A unit of the "Moonzund" type, fishing freezer canner super trawler, design Atlantik 488.

Of which, a large number were built for USSR owners; in this case, originally for the State Stock Corporation 'Okeaan' of Tallinn, Estonia.

The ship is named after the now Latvian village of Ainaži.
on the Latvian/Estonian border. Prior to WW1 this village, and the land north of the River Salaca, was under Estonian control.
'Heinaste' being the Estonian language equivalent of 'Ainaži'.

Now (2024) under Namibian ownership, and registered in Walvis Bay.
