Giant Tree Snail in Sinharaja Forest, Sri Lanka

This remarkable Giant Tree Snail was photographed during my visit to Sinharaja Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich biodiversity. The snail's vibrant shell and slow, deliberate movements are just a few examples of the extraordinary wildlife that calls this tropical rainforest home. Sinharaja is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering an unforgettable experience for those interested in observing unique species in their natural habitat.

Rainforest Semi-slug, possibly a Black-spotted Semi-slug (Macularian aquila)

Is it a kind I haven't seen before? Is it a young one without its adult markings? ID help appreciated. It was very tiny. I'm tending towards the Black spotted Semi-slug, as you can see some distinct spots in this shot. . . . . . photo KR

It is this one? Iridescent Semi-slug (Peloparion iridis):

Or this one? snail with only half a shell: Black-spotted Semi-slug (Macularian aquila):

Not having a lot of luck with obtaining information on these guys. Found them south of Cairns in Coastal rain forest.. The largest one that we have seen had a shell that was nearly as round as a tennis ball.

Have not been able to get a scientific name at all so far.

Snails Pace...

♪♫ ♪♫

This is a new shell I found in the garden and placed this on one of our huge palm fronds that came crashing down.
So sorry, I must post and run today. Will catch up later friends.
Will be trying my first evening shift back at the hospital now.
This might just be me....working at snails pace. Hopefully my back will hold up.
