The Blackburn B.2 G-AEBJ is a rare sight in the air - a 1930s trainer with elegant lines and agile performance. Originally designed as a basic trainer for the RAF, the B.2 never entered mass service but stood out for its robust build and stable flying characteristics. This beautifully restored example is part of the Shuttleworth Collection and regularly takes to the skies in flying displays, showing just how charming and capable these interwar designs could be.
The Blackburn B.2 was originally developed in the early 1930s as a training aircraft, featuring a robust all-metal structure with fabric covering and a reliable radial engine. Though it saw limited adoption by the RAF, its stable handling and good low-speed performance made it well-suited to both training and display work. In this low-level pass, G-AEBJ demonstrates the aircraft’s excellent control - hallmarks of early British trainer design and ideal for classic barnstorming-style manoeuvres.
A big "FAILTE" to Shannon for Beta Technologies and their Alia CX-300 electric aircraft N214BT. Seen here returning for its second flight yesterday when it posed in lovely weather for air-to-air photos over the west coast of Clare and the Arann islands. The "Failte" is a sign on a factory in the industrial estate.
