A 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 ‘Fastback’ Coupe, [63A]; One of 42,581 examples produced, painted in a shade of “Royal Maroon”, fitted W/ ‘Torq Thrust’ mag wheels. Black plate registration “FMA 387F”, imported to the U.K. in 2016. Sitting outside a specialist classic car restoration service in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K. Other vehicles in this picture include a 5th-generation VW Golf, F-reg Ford Fiesta MKII, C-reg Jaguar, and a 2000s Land Rover Defender LWB.
A rare U.K. market-specified right-hand-drive 1998 Ford Explorer V6 4X4 SUV export model, [UN150], six-character registration “S96 LFL”, 4.0-litre V6 W/ 5-spd “5R55E” auto, painted in what looks to be “Oxford White”. I see this interesting American-built modern classic quite regularly where I live (Ryedale, North Yorkshire), although haven’t gotten the opportunity to snap a picture of it, until today.
Side-profile view of a 1965 Ford Mustang Hardtop ”Notchback” Coupe, [65A]; One of 409,260 produced. Fitted W/ optional 289-CID V8. Although the registration “DSX 135C” and front grille treatment both identify this car as a 1965 model, that distinctive chrome side scallop trim was made for the 1966 model year. Presumably at some point this car would’ve been restored and retrofit with 1966 trim pieces, including aftermarket mag wheels. The paintwork was in immaculate condition and the engine sounded great. Spotted outside the old steam train station in Pickering, Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K.
Rear-quarter view of a 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car [53B], parked on the street in a Medieval village located within The Howardian Hills of North Yorkshire, U.K. Painted in “Medium Silver Metallic” and fitted with a 460-CID V8, this car creates quite a contrast with the historic sandstone buildings in the background. According to an aftermarket script on the trunk lid, the car was originally supplied by Wilson Ford of Paducah, Kentucky. Imported to the U.K. in 2019. Age-related black plate registration “VRL 889S”.
This car is known to me, as for several years (since being imported) it has been owned by a local family friend - Mr. John Skaife. He previously owned this 1987 Cadillac Brougham: flic.kr/p/2mhYV6T
