A man in a Kayak boat is sailing in the coast of Guanaqueros, a coastal town placed 12 kilometres north of Tongoy and near to the Route 5 between Santiago and Coquimbo & La Serena. This coastal town is visited by thousands of people in summer time (december, january, february and even march) due to their warm beaches, excelent climate and for be quieter than other coastal places in Valparaíso region (the distance between -450 Kms avg.- Santiago and Tongoy - Guanaqueros - Puerto Velero - Las Tacas - Coquimbo - La Serena acts as a de facto filter).

it´s highly recommended travel to here.

Picture of the Route 5 (Panamerican Route) between La Serena and Santiago (a trenche of +/- 460 kilometres of lenght) and next to the small town of La Cebada.

As we can seen on this picture, a lot of cars were moving across this motorway between both cities, taking in mind that recently we have the summer season. Thousands of people choosen northern Chile for their holidays, specially due to the warm beaches and climate.

A boat is sailing near Morrillos, a coastal small town placed near Route 5, and between Santiago and La Serena / Coquimbo.

Beaches of Coquimbo region are very very warm, and on this summer season, it´s highly recommended travel to here.
